Week 1 Wrap Up

The Milwaukee Bucks did what they were supposed to do to start the season off. If they continue to beat who they are supposed to beat and lose to who they are supposed to lose to then they will be fighting for a low playoff seed this year in the East.

Doing what you are supposed to isn’t a bad thing but it might not be enough for Bucks fans who want a winning season to rally behind. Luckily a lot of the pieces on this team are playing together for the first time and if they can become more cohesive they will be able to compete with higher caliber opponents.

For now, a lot of things are working in Milwaukee’s favor. Giannis has the look of an absolute superstar and his $100 million payday doesn’t seem to have gone to his head. Jabari hasn’t looked great yet but there are 80 games left for him to show what he is capable of. Delly, Mirza Teletovic, and the other newcomers are still getting their feet under them. Rashad Vaughn has played well! And finally Greg Monroe has adjusted his game in a way that seems to be a better match for what the Bucks are trying to do.

It’s too early to make any real conclusions. The Milwaukee Bucks can still become something very special this season. That’s reason enough to keep watching the future unfold.
