Jumpstartin’ Jabari

Coming off his 21-point night against the Pelicans, Jabari Parker kicked into high gear against the Pacers Thursday night.

Jabari got off to a hot start, opening his night with a nice mid-range jumper and as usual, a thunderous dunk. Not long after, he connected on his first attempt from the three-point line, which was the first of many on the night for the 21 year-old as he finished 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

From there, Jabari continued his scoring spree and hit the 20-point mark just a little after the second half got underway.  When it was all said and done, Jabari finished with his most effective offensive performance of the year, scoring 27 points on 17 shots.

Unlike his game against the Pelicans, Parker found other meaningful ways to make an impact outside of his scoring.  He hauled in eight rebounds (3 offensive rebounds), dished out 3 assists and finished with +9 plus-minus.

If there was one aspect of his game that you’d have to pick at, it was his 4 turnovers. While he wasn’t the biggest culprit of this by any stretch, it was still a sign of how Jabari’s still feeling out the rhythm in regards to his playmaking within the team.

Other than that, it was the performance many, if not everyone, was waiting to see from Jabari to open the season. Now let’s hope it continues.
