Super Greek

This shouldn’t come as a surprise since it hasn’t been one at all this year: Giannis Antetokounmpo was the best player for the Bucks against the Pacers.

Turning in a near triple-double performance, the Pacers had no solutions to stop Giannis at any point in the night. Not even their face of the franchise, Paul George could slow down Giannis on his way to 27 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in nearly 34 minutes.

I’ll be honest, it’s hard to just choose one highlight for Giannis from the night.

Like usual, there’s a long list of dunks to choose from, most of which were untouched or uncontested by the Pacers.  But if I have to go with one, I have to go with his insane slam dunk attempt on Kevin Seraphin, who escaped this almost nuclear-like blast like he was Indiana Jones but without a refrigerator to protect him.

Getting back to the point, though, it was just another night where Giannis was simply a problem for the opposing team.  He scored at will, found shooters in transition and bothered his matchups defensively, finishing the night with two steals and two blocks.

Like Jabari, the one drawback to his game were turnovers (4). It was a team wide issue, but it’s still an inconsistency you’d like to see Giannis clean up in his game.

What’s stayed the same has been Giannis’ play and most importantly, his impact on the team.

That was true again against the Pacers as he finished with a team-high 20 plus-minus and it feels safe to say it will continue in the future.

Again, Giannis’ start has been nothing short of terrific and it shows in pretty much every statistic, traditional or advanced. And to think, this is what he’s doing as a 21 year old.
