Peak Delly

Continuing on our key Bucks role players theme, it’s hard to overlook how Matthew Dellavedova played last night.

On the surface, there was nothing much that really stood out for the Australian in his performance.  Finishing the night with nine points and nine assists is solid, but it certainly doesn’t stand on its own in terms of signature performances.

But that’s exactly what you want from a player like Delly, especially at the position he plays.  Playing without many mistakes like he has for most of the year (Delly had just two turnovers on the night) came through in a big way for the Bucks and set up plays like this only boost Delly’s impact on the floor.

While Delly’s effectiveness shooting the ball was far more quiet, his late game three-pointer, his lone make and attempt of the night, was officially the dagger for the Bucks to close out the win.

Again, this game won’t go down as his best or his flashiest (if that truly exists for a guy like Delly) of the season.  However, we’ve seen how Delly helping provide a spark on both ends of the floor is exactly what this team needs out of him and that was definitely evident last night.

The Bucks will look to repeat their performance as they’ll once again take on the Chicago Bulls on Friday, this time in the United Center.
