Major Key For Milwaukee: Forget The Last Game

The worst thing the Milwaukee Bucks can do against the Wizards on Sunday is feel like they need to win big because of the collapse they suffered against the Knicks on Friday. That’s how a team can get tight.

When a team feels like they absolutely have to win a game it sometimes results in just that happening. The passion seeps through the team and everybody plays hard and it’s great.

It’s seemingly just as likely, though, for that team to get tight and play a little weird. The offense starts to feel forced, the defense overreacts to motions and things get worse before they get better.

Especially in the regular season, the best teams don’t get so incredibly taken up in a game or three. It’s important to remember that the NBA features an 82 game regular season. That’s too many games to expect a team to avoid some really ugly losses.

Playing a bit harder after a bad game is fine, but the Bucks have to be careful about not getting consumed with making up for their last loss. That starts with head coach Jason Kidd stressing to his players that yesterday is over and today is what matters on Sunday.
