Jabari’s Starry Night

With Giannis being a late scratch, all eyes were on Jabari Parker to see how he’d fare without his running mate beside him. Playing over 40 minutes, Parker did a little bit of everything and provided a steady presence for the Bucks all throughout the game.

Jabari hit on back-to-back three-point attempts not long after tip-off, which played a big part in the team’s hot start from beyond the arc. While he only added one more make from deep, going 3-of-6 from downtown was just more encouragement in his ongoing growth as a knockdown three-point shooter.

Of course, Parker added much more to his scoring than three-point shooting, such as cutting to the basket or powering his way through his matchup for buckets. Oh, and there were some dunks like this one with assistance from Malcolm Brogdon.

Topping it off by going 7-of-9 from the free-throw line, Jabari finished the day off with 28 points on 9-of-21 shooting.

In addition to his scoring, Jabari flashed his playmaking skills, dishing out seven assists and did work on the glass, hauling in eight rebounds. On the defensive end, he finished with two steals and a notable block midway through the second quarter.

Again, in hopefully unusual circumstances (knocks on all kinds of wood), Jabari held his own and despite the unsuccessful results, it was encouraging to see him step up when the Bucks needed it most.
