Major Key For Milwaukee: Keep On Passing

The Bucks opened up a massive lead in their last win against the Miami Heat at home, scoring 42 points in the first quarter. The reason Milwaukee was able to score so many points was thanks to the Bucks crisp passing.

Passing makes every coach happy, and especially a former floor general like Jason Kidd loves to see a team whipping the ball around and passing up good shots for great ones. The numbers don’t lie: when the Milwaukee Bucks move the ball really well, they win ballgames.

Milwaukee is 9-0 when the team records 28 or more assists this season. On the other hand, when the Bucks dish less than 25 assists the team is 6-11. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Matthew Dellavedova and Malcolm Brogdon account for a lot of those assists, but good passing extends beyond the primary ball handlers.

When every player is looking to set their teammates up with great shots, that’s when teams get really dangerous. That kind of fluid, selfless passing is what made the Golden State Warriors so good for the last two and a half seasons. Turns out, it works for the Bucks too, even if they’re not going to win 73 games this season.
