Major Key For Philadelphia: Keep The Score Low

The 76ers have the NBA’s 13th-best defense this season, according to team defensive rating. Anchored by Embiid, the 76ers are pretty stout on that end of the floor. That’s a good thing for them, because Philly’s offense is a dumpster fire.

No team scores less points per 100 possessions than the 76ers, who manage just 99.1 points per game. That’s an important mark for Philly. The team is 7-1 in games where they allow 99 points or less this year.

When Philly gives up 100 or more points, the team is 5-25. Getting to 100 points first is always a good sign, but getting to 100 points at all on Monday will lead to the Bucks having a much better shot at winning this game.

There just aren’t many scorers on the 76ers to help the team keep up with opponents who are scoring in bunches. After Embiid, the second-leading scorer on the team is Ersan Ilyasova! After Ersan it’s Jahlil Okafor, who’s followed by Jerryd Bayless, Robert Covington and Dario Saric. None of those last three are hitting even 40 percent of their field goals. Yikes.
