Here, Have A Three-Pointer!

Coming into a game against the Rockets (a team who shoots a historical volume of triples) on Wednesday, it seems fair to say “Houston, we have a problem”.

The Bucks are giving up the fourth most three-point attempts per game in the NBA, and you’d have to feel that number is going to continue to trend in the wrong direction if Jason Kidd and his players can’t find a remedy sooner rather than later.

On an average night the Bucks aren’t necessarily giving up an excessively high percentage of made triples, in fact they sit at the 11th best in that category. The problem lies in the volume, and Philadelphia’s 37 attempts from deep on Monday proved decisive.

Multiple Sixers chipped in with threes to shoot 37 percent overall, and after the game, Jason Kidd spoke to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about how his team cannot let that happen.

"“Every team we play shoots threes. At some point, we’ve got to understand what the three means to us as a team if we want to win. We can talk about it, but if there’s no effort in guarding it, we’re going to give up a lot of threes.” “A lot of teams are shooting over 30 of them, and they’re making a lot of them. So we’ve got to do a better job.”"
