Rim Protection

A continuous problem Milwaukee has had is protecting the rim when Giannis is off the floor. First of all, John Henson is usually taking a breather with Giannis. He’s the second best rim protector on the team. The team’s third best rim protector is probably Miles Plumlee, who has rarely played.

On Friday, like in many other games, when Giannis went to the bench, the opponent was able to drive right to the rim. Defense becomes pretty difficult if there isn’t someone to back up the perimeter defenders.

The line up of Dellavedova, Jason Terry, Jabari, Michael Beasley, and Greg Monroe really struggled to protect the rim. The perimeter defenders were getting beat off the dribble, and Moose had his hands full with Bismack Biyombo.

If the Bucks want to snap out of the rut they currently find themselves in, they’re going to need to find a way to give up less easy buckets.

Luckily for everybody, the Bucks get another chance to right the ship on Saturday night against the Miami Heat.
