Thon-ny Boy

Thon-ny Boy, Oh Thon-ny Boy! I don’t know the rest of that song, but good luck getting that out of your head.

With Jabari being punished, Thon Maker was rewarded with his first start of his career.

If there is one thing you can consistently say about his minutes, he puts great effort into his opportunities. Thon is great at running the floor with intensity. There aren’t many big men in the league that will be able to out run him when he enters his psychical prime.

Thon made a couple of nice rolls to the basket, drawing a foul for free throws. He stepped to the line and hit 3-4.

Showing off his shot, Thon took two top of the key threes, hitting on one. The second came late in the game, but with Hassan Whiteside closing out on him, it was hard to judge the rookie for rushing it.

He wasn’t able to impact the game much outside of an offensive rebound and steal, but it was just enjoyable to see the Bucks’ new toy in his most significant action so far this season.

The reality is that Thon looked pretty good for a player who had never previously come close to playing against this level of competition.

As an added bonus, Maker was the team leader in plus/minus with a plus-seven, if you’re into that kinda thing.
