Thon Maker. 6. team. 89. For the first time in his career, Thon Maker received substantial minutes this week, starting in two games and playing a total of 42 minutes. In this time, Maker was 9-18 from the field and canned three of his four shots from deep. The free throw shooting probably wasn’t what Maker wanted (3-6), but hopefully that picks up as he gets into a better rhythm. He also swatted away five shots (!), which led the team for the week. His rebounding can still obviously be improved upon, but for his first true test in big NBA minutes, Thon seemingly passed with flying colors.
The 10th overall pick in the year’s draft is looking like he can do some damage in the second half of the season, especially when already paired with the young duo of Giannis and Jabari.
.
