Brandon Jennings

Year(s): 2010, 2011

Brandon Jennings had two vastly different experiences at the Rising Stars Challenge. Both of his games came when the game was rookies vs sophomores, so Jennings played on each team once.

He balled out on the rookie team, dropping 22 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals on the sophomore class. In a lineup move that seems hilarious now, Jennings’ presence on the team forced Stephen Curry to play shooting guard and caused James Harden to come off of the bench.

Unfortunately things didn’t go so well for Jennings the next year. He was relegated to bench duty and scored just eight points on ten attempted shots, although he did add seven assists. Jennings propelled the rookies to victory, but his sophomore team fell to the next rookie class.

It probably shouldn’t be too surprising Jennings got to play a lot on the rookie team, considering how quickly he arrived as a NBA scorer. Jennings posted 15.5 points per game in his first season and 16.2 points per game as a sophomore.
