1993-94 – Eric Murdock (Eliminated First Round)

The Bucks would have to wait six whole years before they got another chance to see one of their players take place in the NBA’s three-point shooting showdown, and in that time the landscape had changed dramatically for the team too.

Having been a perennial playoff team for over a decade, the early 90s signalled a shift for the franchise as they simply weren’t very talented. One of the few bright spots on the roster was their defensive minded point guard Eric Murdock.

Murdock was well known for being a steals master, but was also more than capable of knocking down the three-pointer. During the 1993-94 season, Murdock made a career high 41.1 percent of his shots from behind the three-point line

That was enough to earn his place in the contest alongside many of the best shooters of the 90s: Mark Price, Steve Kerr, Dana Barros, Dell Curry, Mitch Richmond and B.J. Armstrong.

Murdock scored 13 first round points which was enough to put him in a tie for fourth with Dana Barros. the pair faced off in a tie-breaker round to see who would advance, but unfortunately Murdock just fell short.

Mark Price would claim the overall success, and it would be another six years before a Buck would appear in the Three-Point Contest.
