2015 Trade Deadline

Milwaukee trades Brandon Knight and Kendall Marshall for Michael Carter-Williams, Miles Plumlee and Tyler Ennis.

There have been a lot of controversial trades in Milwaukee Bucks history, but the infamous Knight/MCW swap is becoming one of the most discussed deals the team has ever made.

The reason for this trade becoming a topic of conversation has nothing to do with Knight, Carter-Williams, Plumlee or Ennis. As part of the trade, the Phoenix Suns sent a first round pick they owned from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers.

MCW then came to the Bucks from Philly, and Ennis and Plumlee came from Phoenix. Rumor has it Milwaukee could’ve taken the Lakers pick instead of MCW and simply left Philly out of the deal.

That pick has been top-three protected both this year and last, but it will be unprotected next year if it doesn’t convey this season. That’s a valuable pick, considering how bad the Lakers have been over the past few seasons.

Whoever the Sixers eventually pick with that selection will be talked about in Milwaukee for a long, long time. The rest of their return from the deal have all been traded somewhere else since, resulting in the Bucks having Michael Beasley, Tony Snell, Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes.
