Collison’s Fit On The Bucks

The biggest question most Bucks fans ask when a point guard is being linked to the team has to do with usage. Any point guard who absolutely dominate the ball would take touches from Giannis Antetokounmpo, which is not ideal.

Collison has a usage percentage of 19.7, which is fairly high but not insane. For reference, Matthew Dellavedova has a usage percentage of 15.9, while Malcolm Brogdon‘s is 18.1.

Collison might slot in as an effective starter on the Bucks. His high three-point percentage is always an asset, and he could act as a secondary playmaker for Milwaukee. Collison’s high usage rate could actually serve as a benefit to the Bucks, if his minutes were somewhat staggered with Giannis’.

They could play off of each other like Jabari Parker and Giannis did, before Jabari’s unfortunate injury. Collison is obviously no Jabari Parker in terms of talent or potential, but he’s a playmaker who could do some damage while Giannis catches his breath, which is something the Bucks could use.

Khris Middleton fills that secondary ball-handler role when he’s fully healthy, but adding extra help there isn’t a horrible idea.
