Major Key For Cleveland: Fire Away From Deep

Help may be on the way for the Cavaliers when the team adds veterans who had their contracts bought out such as Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut, but those players may not arrive in time to play against Milwaukee on Monday night.

In the meantime, the Cavs can play a numbers game to attempt to lessen the impact of losing LeBron, Love and J.R. Three is worth more than two, and only the Houston Rockets have taken more three-point attempts per game than the Cavaliers have this season.

Kyrie has made more threes than any other Cav this season, and even without three gifted shooters Cleveland still has plenty of threats from long range. It’s easier to list the Cavaliers that hit less than 35 percent of their threes than it is to list the ones who are better than that from beyond the arc–only Richard Jefferson, Derrick Williams and Tristan Thompson have shot below that mark.

Even out of those three, defenses are still going to at least respect Jefferson and Williams from distance. This is a dangerous jump-shooting team, and snipers like Kyle Korver, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert and James Jones could kill the Bucks with open threes on Monday.
