D. The one positive from this game for Kidd was the experimentation that came with Khris Middleton at the four, and three guards behind him that led the Bucks to show some second half resistance. Considering the Bucks had shown positive signs with different forms of small ball earlier in the year, most notably in a narrow loss to the Warriors, perhaps it reflects poorly on the coach that he hasn’t tried variations of that more often before he had to deal with having two of his more traditional forwards unavailable.

Away from that, we had more shock lineup changes that can’t be spun as anything other than a desperation push to inspire change or a reaction among the players. While Kidd had previously hinted at greater opportunity for Vaughn, starting him seemed like a bridge too far. By the same token, not enough was done to exploit matchup advantages over Denver, or to prevent the Nuggets from exploiting theirs over Milwaukee.

All in all, no matter what lineup goes out there at the moment, the results aren’t particularly good.
. Coach. Milwaukee Bucks. JASON KIDD
