Major Key For Milwaukee: Get Giannis Going

Luckily for the Milwaukee Bucks, Stephen Curry has been in a shooting slump over his last three games. If it weren’t for Curry’s struggles, more fans might be noticing that Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn’t exactly been red-hot recently either.

After a strong start in two games after the All-Star break, here are Giannis’ per game averages over the Bucks’ last two contests: 12.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 4.5 turnovers.

Those numbers are quiet but not horrible, but looking at how the Greek Freek has shot from all areas in those games explains the low scoring totals. Giannis made 34.6 percent of his field goals, none of his threes and 60.0 percent of his free throws in those two games.

The Bucks need more from their franchise player. Everybody slumps sometimes–the reigning and two-time unanimous NBA MVP is in a bad one right now–but Milwaukee can’t afford too many more off games from Giannis if the team wants to get into the 2017 NBA Playoffs.
