Major Key For Milwaukee: Defend The Arc

The Memphis Grizzlies are a dramatically better team when they make some threes. The Grizzlies’ tough defense means Memphis can really jump out ahead of teams with the help of a few made three-pointers.

The Grizzlies have made 12 or more threes 15 times this season. Memphis has lost just one of those games. When the Grizz make a bunch of threes they become sort of unstoppable.

Memphis has beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder in games where the team has made 12 or more threes this season.

Meanwhile, Memphis is 13-23 in games where the team makes less than ten three-pointers. Chandler Parsons was brought on to add that threat from deep, but unfortunately hasn’t yet fully recovered from various injuries.

Parsons has made just six more threes than Zach Randolph has this season, and Randolph isn’t exactly a sharp-shooter. The Grizzlies other signature big man, Marc Gasol, has been a revelation from deep though. We’ll get to him later.
