Major Key For Milwaukee: Defend The Arc Better

The Milwaukee Bucks need to be better at preventing teams from taking open three-pointers. The Memphis Grizzlies looked like the free-wheeling Houston Rockets against Milwaukee’s porous defense. The Grizzlies made 14 of 27 attempted threes on Monday night.

The Bucks actually shot well from deep too, but it didn’t make enough of a difference considering the Grizzlies sweet stroke from downtown. Memphis is 17th in made threes per game among NBA teams.

The Clippers are ninth among NBA teams in made threes per game. It will be even worse for Milwaukee if the Bucks let Los Angeles get open looks, considering the quality of shooters the Clippers boast.

J.J. Redick, Chris Paul and company aren’t likely to miss many open shots if they get them. Milwaukee made Vince Carter look like Stephen Curry on Monday night–imagine how badly Redick could hurt the Bucks if he gets the kind of looks that Carter did.
