Who We Thought They Were

The Golden State Warriors are 55-14 after eviscerating the Bucks. They won 73 games last season and 67 games the year before that, when they won the NBA title back in 2015. They are good.

The Dubs are so good, somehow while sitting at 55-14 they can be “slumping.” It’s doubtlessly true that Golden State wasn’t playing up to par in the days after the Durant injury, but smart basketball watchers knew they would snap out of it at some point.

Saturday night was the point. Curry especially was back after having a rough stretch of games recently. He recorded 28 points on the strength of six made three-pointers to go along with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and a block.

Sometimes he was left too open, but a lot of those shots are just those mind-bending Curry shots that happen sometimes. He’s the two-time unanimous MVP for a reason, after all. Matthew Dellavedova got shook a couple of times, but such is life.
