Major Key For Milwaukee: Play Sound Basketball

The Milwaukee Bucks are a very average team in terms of turnovers. The Bucks turn the ball over 13.8 times per game, which is exactly 15th among NBA teams. Milwaukee might not be one of the more careless teams with the ball, but the Hornets certainly aren’t either.

Charlotte is dead last among teams in turnovers per game. The Hornets turn the ball over just 11.7 times per game. That’s even better than their mark last season, when the team committed 12.6 turnovers per game. Charlotte led the league in that season too.

In fact, all four of the Charlotte teams Steve Clifford has coached have led the NBA in turnovers per game. Clifford preaches sound fundamentals, and that gives the Hornets an edge in each and every game.

The Bucks will have to be careful with the ball as well. Letting Charlotte get extra possessions means the Hornets could win even if Milwaukee is more effective at scoring the basketball. The Bucks probably won’t win the turnover battle, but they’ll have to at least keep the margin reasonable to pull off a win in Charlotte.

Also, the Bucks need to limit their fouls. No team shoots a better percentage from the free throw line than the Hornets do.
