PG. Previous: 9th. Gary Payton II. 13. team. 89. No doubt turnovers and fouls were an issue for GPII this week. He recorded six turnovers (one per 10.2 minutes) and eight fouls (one per 7.6 minutes), but on the whole he flashed a decent all-around game. Although his poor shooting from deep (0-5) hurts his overall percentage, The Mitten was successful inside the arc going 4-6 (66.7 percent). In addition, he was tied for third on the team in assists, behind players who played at least 20 minutes more than him. With nine total rebounds, he did a solid job skying up and snagging boards.
Speaking of skying up, GPII had three blocks, which was third on the team. Even if GPII is not in the plans for the playoff run, he could prove to a nice asset for the G-League team next season or a deep reserve on the big club.
