Middleton’s Hot Start

Khris Middleton had been struggling recently. His shots weren’t falling like they normally do, and it was hurting the Bucks at times. That wasn’t the case on Thursday.

Middleton started the game with a quick five points for the Bucks, which gave them a lead that would only grow. His midrange game was working, and he just looked locked in on offense. By the time he was pulled with under five minutes left in the quarter, he had scored 11 of the Bucks’ 20 points.

He also did a great job facilitating. When he got the ball, he quickly sized up whether he could score, or looked to dish it out to an open teammate. He ended the game with seven assists, and kept teammates involved all night long.

It was great to see Middleton show up DeMar DeRozan in every way. Middleton was his typical self on defense, and got in passing lanes to get two steals. He hit tough shots, whereas DeRozan didn’t hit any shots (0-for-8 on field goals).

Much has been made about the Bucks having the best player in the series in Giannis. But when Khris performs like he did last night, the Bucks have the second best player too.
