Do They Measure Up?

Had you been paying attention, it would’ve become obvious by the third sentence that I’m not a ‘sneakerhead’.

In fact, I probably couldn’t even name the models of a majority of the shoes that I’ve owned over the years. That being said, I’m not going to give the Delly 1s a cop-out grading like ‘G for certified grit’.

Overall, the PEAK Delly 1s aren’t Air Jordan’s, but they are far from the worst shoes I’ve ever played in. Whilst I did have some picky reservations about the design, from a technical perspective, you can’t knock the comfort or quality-make of this shoe.

Unfortunately, that comes at a cost and the price ($160 AUD ~ $120 USD) is definitely an issue. Although I’d like to think otherwise, Matthew Dellavedova just doesn’t have the marketability outside of Australia to command top-dollar for a signature shoe comparable to the superstar names signed with Nike, Adidas and Under Armour. Undoubtedly, this is an uphill battle that PEAK Sport is prepared to face when the Delly 1s hit stores in June.

Rating: 7.5/10

Now I’m just going to sit here, eagerly awaiting the Delly 2.
