Strengths

Despite being a grizzly veteran, Luc Mbah a Moute can still bring it on defense. He was often tasked with defending point guards for the Clippers last season, a task he was capable of doing all year.

The only player who made Los Angeles’ defense better last season by being on the floor was Chris Paul, and the difference is miniscule. With CP3 on the court, the Clips gave up 101.3 points per 100 possessions. With Mbah a Moute, they gave up 102.0 points per 100.

Since departing Milwaukee, Mbah a Moute has made himself into something of a three-point threat, in limited doses. He shot 29.0 percent with the Bucks from deep, on 69 attempts across five years in Milwaukee.

Over the last three years–two with the Clippers, one with the Philadelphia 76ers–Mbah a Moute has made 33.5 percent of his 352 attempted triples. The percentage and number of looks going up mean Mbah a Moute has added an aspect to his game that used to be lacking, always a good sign in a veteran player.
