Who is Sterling Brown?

Born in Maywood, Illinois, Sterling Brown attended Proviso East High School, where he excelled. As a senior for the team, he averaged 13.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. He was able to lead his team to a 30-5 record and made the state semifinals in his division. For his efforts, he was named a Mr. Basketball finalist and a All-State third team selection in Illinois.

And this is where his connection with the Milwaukee Bucks begins. In both his junior and senior years, his seasons were ended by Simeon Career Academy. For those who haven’t connected the dots, during the seasons Brown was in high school, so was Jabari Parker. Guess who Parker players for? Simeon Career Academy.

This is not his only NBA connection, though. His older brother, Shannon Brown, has spent extensive time in the Association. Shannon has played for the Cavaliers, Bulls, Bobcats, Lakers, Suns, Spurs, Knicks, and Heat (also three D-League teams) in his career, which started in 2006.

Sterling Brown was recruited as one of the top shooting guards in the country (four-star recruit), and eventually signed on with head coach Larry Brown and the SMU Mustangs.
