Brooklyn Nets

Although the Nets don’t exactly need centers thanks to their recent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers that brought Timofey Mozgov to Brooklyn, they remain a team with cap space who will be a willing facilitator in exchange for future assets.

That means it’s a guarantee the Bucks would have to part with either a talented young player or a draft pick to get a deal completed, but backed up against the luxury tax, that may be a price they’re forced into paying.

In dealing with Brooklyn, Milwaukee would have to bring some salary back but could still save in excess of $9 million as a part of any deal. The player components could range from Trevor Booker to Andrew Nicholson and a combination of either Spencer Dinwiddie, Sean Kilpatrick or Joe Harris.

A deal with the Nets should probably be viewed as a last resort for the Bucks in order to complete more free agency deals while also dipping below the tax. At the very least, it wouldn’t make sense to give away an asset while moving a productive player before stretching Spencer Hawes, waiving Gary Payton II and re-assessing the situation first.
