The Need For Trust

As the Bucks look to show drastically improved performances in their upcoming games in Vegas, the key could come down to trust.

Milwaukee’s players need to trust in their own abilities, and trust in each other as teammates. For much of Friday’s opener there was little cohesion between the players as a unit. Although that’s not overly surprising given the minimal time they’ve had to get acquainted with each other, there were also brief glimpses of how that could be combated.

The Bucks had their best run of the game when they locked in defensively and moved the ball at speed on offense. In other words, just doing the simple things led to the best results against the Cavaliers.

The Bucks certainly need Thon Maker to look a lot better than he did in a hapless showing on Friday. Although Rashad Vaughn did pick up his play to lead the team in scoring with 12 points, Milwaukee may benefit from him looking to be even more assertive too.

Beyond the need for improved individual showings, it just boils down to relying on the most fundamental elements of good, team basketball.
