MILWAUKEE, WI – APRIL 27: Malcolm Brogdon
MILWAUKEE, WI – APRIL 27: Malcolm Brogdon /

PG – Malcolm Brogdon: 80 overall

Start of 2K17: 70

End of 2K17: 78

Thanks to Brogdon’s dunks against the Cleveland Cavaliers (including one on LeBron James), the President saw an increase in popularity during the middle of this last season. With that, 2K granted him slightly better dunking skills and with his height, he is a fun threat as a point guard because of his ability to finish around the rim and shoot the three in the virtual world.

I do not expect Brogdon to make a major overall jump into the mid-80s, but his Rookie of the Year campaign showed to the entire NBA that he is a very talented player. Looking back on previous winners of the award, here is their ratings the season after they won:

2016: Karl-Anthony Towns (78 -> 88)

2015: Andrew Wiggins (77 -> 80)

2014: Michael Carter-Williams (61 -> 80)

Jumping up 10 overall from the start of his rookie season would be a major jump from 2K, but Brogdon’s “second round pick to Rookie of the Year” story will help support the idea of him coming out of nowhere to reach the 80 overall mark.
