Defense tightens up

The prospect of the Bucks ever returning to the top-2 defense they possessed back in Jason Kidd’s first season as coach back in 2014-15 now seems like an almost impossible dream, but for them to even approach being one of the NBA’s elite teams, it’s an area they need to improve in.

As much as many Bucks fans would love to see the team employ a more conservative approach next season, there’s little evidence to suggest Kidd and assistant coach Sean Sweeney are going to switch up their key defensive principles.

With that in mind, the hope has to be that with another year’s experience for the majority of the roster in playing in this system, the Bucks will look more aware and coherent as a unit.

Top priority has to be reducing the number of open three-pointers that are allowed, particularly from the corners, and if an adjustment isn’t made to help counter that, and greater experience isn’t the remedy, the Bucks will continue to have difficulties.
