Washington Wizards

Additions: John Wall (early extension), Otto Porter (returning free agent), Tim Frazier, Jodie Meeks, Mike Scott

SubtractionsBojan Bogdanovic, Trey BurkeBrandon Jennings

As much as the Brooklyn Nets tried their best to disrupt things with a bold offer sheet for Otto Porter, the Washington Wizards have managed to keep things together with a relatively low-key offseason.

Re-signing Wall and Porter are the headlining moves that will keep the Wizards at the forefront of the East’s playoff picture for the next few years at least, but beyond that, the Wizards also made some modest additions that should help them to plug their long-term lack of depth.

Although Jodie Meeks needs to be able to stay healthy for this to come in to play, effectively swapping Trey Burke and Brandon Jennings for Meeks and the vastly underrated Tim Frazier is a big upgrade. Mike Scott has also proven himself to be valuable as an instant offense guy off the bench, and although he won’t make up for the loss of Bojan Bogdanovic, the Wizards’ second unit should be more well-rounded as a result of their business this summer.

Better or Worse?: The Wizards will be relying on the play of Wall, Porter, and Bradley Beal jumping to another level if they are to be elevated to new heights as a team, but overall they should show moderate improvements thanks to their summer dealings.
