What is Brown Saying?

Brown certainly didn’t shy away from his versatility when questioned on media day.

"“That’s what I do, just go out there and play. No set positions or none of that, just go out there and make a winning play, make something happen however you can, and that’s what I’m going to do.”"

In this position-less era of basketball and in the system Milwaukee runs, Brown’s versatility is certainly an asset to the team. Brown’s commitment to this style of play and willingness to continue in it, could mean early minutes for the former SMU star.

Something that has not received much attention however is what Milwaukee’s stars and veterans can offer to Brown in terms of his development and play. Khris Middleton and Tony Snell also play in a similar style to Brown. When asked about the two, Brown said:

"“Khris has been helping me out since day one. Giving me pointers, advice, and stuff I should look at, stuff I should do. Tony, as well. Definitely looking up, I’ve got two great guys ahead of me, and I look forward to learning as much as I can from them and implementing all of that into my game.”"

While Brown brings a level of maturity and leadership to the team, both Middleton and Snell can offer the rookie years of NBA experience in that position. If Brown is to succeed in this league, he can do much worse than to model his career on the starting duo.

Speaking of his expectations for his rookie season, Brown said:

"“I’m just expecting to go out there and learn as much as I can, and when my number is called, then I just have to go out there and perform.”"

Like all rookies, there is much to learn for Brown in terms of his development, both on and off the court. But if Brown can learn under the tutelage of Milwaukee’s stars and stay motivated, his skill-set certainly appears to be a good fit for the Bucks.
