Milwaukee Bucks: Mirza Teletovic 2017-18 season preview
What is Teletovic saying?
At season’s end last year, there was no sugarcoating on the part of Teletovic as he reflected on how the season didn’t go right for him by any means.
Heading into the team’s Media Day this year, it was obviously fair to expect Teletovic would share the same sentiment, but with a twist as he looks to put last year well behind him with a new season approaching fast.
Sharing his availability with another player who has dealt with his own share of consistency issues in John Henson, Teletovic spoke on how the continuity the Bucks have built has led to a better familiarity within the team and for himself heading into the upcoming season:
"“When you have the same core and the same guys it makes it easier for me. Last year, coming in, you had to learn the system, you had to learn the defensive scheme and the way we want to defend and everything, and then just getting the different shots I was getting last year. I definitely feel way more comfortable than I was feeling last year.”"
As we saw during the team’s training camp and during the team’s first preseason game on Monday night, Teletovic is sporting a new look as he will wear protective glasses for the new year. In talking about it in a piece by Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last week, Teletovic talked about what led to this development:
"“It’s difficult with astigmatism. Every time the contact moves everything is blurry. Astigmatism was the main thing that I wanted to remove so I did it. It’s really good.”"
