Milwaukee Bucks: Mirza Teletovic 2017-18 season preview
Expectations for Teletovic this season
After having as poor of a shooting season as he did last year, it’s safe to say some Bucks fans aren’t hoping for much from Teletovic as he heads into his second year with the team. However, all hope may not be lost for something resembling a return to form for Teletovic for the 2017-18 season.
Teletovic does have a history of bouncing back in a considerable way after experiencing a down season on two different occasions, the first being his productive campaign under Jason Kidd in Brooklyn for the 2013-14 season and the second being his career year with the Suns two years ago.
Now to come into the year and expect a similar jump in efficiency as he has previously experienced may be jumping the gun a bit at this point, but the bar has certainly been lowered for Teletovic to improve in some capacity after a rough first season in Milwaukee.
Whether he ultimately will bounce back or not is the aforementioned big question. Being as specialized of a player as he is, Teletovic’s success is primarily determined by his own three-point efficiency, even if he continues to have a similar impact when he was on the floor last season.
The best case scenario is we see a resurgent shooting performance from the 32-year-old on the year, which leads to him having a similar or even greater impact on the team in a very clear and indisputable way.
If worst comes to worst, however, things won’t bode well for Teletovic and who knows what ramifications may arise if he fails to meet the expectations held by the coaching staff and/or the front office again.
