What is Maker saying?

Maker comes into this season more experienced and more prepared than he did in his rookie season. As a particularly young rookie, traveling internationally, the transition for Maker was rough off the court.

In his media day interview, Maker mentioned the difficulty of transitioning both on and off the court.

"“The toughest part was probably handling the off-court stuff at the same time as the on-court, and knowing that on-court is a business, and you’ve got to be able to perform and also live a regular life.”"

He also spoke on team continuity preaching that it should lower make thing easier for the team.

"“It makes it easier because you know what you’re there to do.”"

These kind of transitions for rookies can often be overlooked. The business nature, as well as, the culture shock can often be overwhelming. Luckily, this season, Maker won’t have the same outside distractions of last year.
