Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 108-100 win over Boston Celtics
Commanding chiefly
Following a rather lackluster preseason individually, the Bucks got a very reassuring performance from second-year player Malcolm Brogdon last night.
In more than 41 minutes of action, Brogdon scored 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field (3-of-5 from three), grabbed one rebound, dished out four assists and tied for a team-high +10, along with Khris Middleton.
As we eventually came to expect last season, Brogdon brought plenty of poise and stability with his play, which was key for stretches without Giannis Antetokounmpo on the floor.
Offensively, Brogdon was sporting new wrinkles in his game by hitting shots off the dribble, and more importantly from behind the three-point arc. On the defensive end, Brogdon made a fantastic contribution to neutralize Celtics guard Kyrie Irving at any point he was matched up against him in the game (Irving scored 17 points on 7-of-25 shooting from the field and 2-of-7 from deep).
All in all, it was a rock solid performance Brogdon put in last night and he certainly put to bed any worries Bucks fans may have had about his underwhelming preseason play.
