Brogdon continues strong start
After some significant struggles in preseason, Bucks fans could have been forgiven for feeling a little nervous about the prospect of Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon facing a sophomore slump.
As it has turned out, it appears as if Brogdon was just waiting for the lights to come on for real.
Following a crucial 19-point contribution against the Boston Celtics, Brogdon chipped in with a further 16 points on Friday night. So far, the former Virginia Cavalier’s playmaking hasn’t been quite as productive as expected when it comes to creating chances for teammates, but the added scoring boost may be more important if he can maintain it.
Averaging 17.5 points per game, Brogdon is doing the heavy lifting from behind the three-point line in the season’s early running. As a rookie, Brogdon attempted 2.6 threes per game, but that number has been as high as 7.0 in the games against Boston and Cleveland.
Beyond that, the very early signs aren’t indicating Brogdon will be more inefficient for taking a higher volume of attempts as he’s managed to make deep shots at a 50 percent clip in recent days.
