Major key for Charlotte – Get Dwight going

Tying into the aforementioned rebounding battle, nothing will arguably be more important for the Hornets than getting the most out of Dwight Howard on Monday night.

The eight-time All-Star has started well with his new team, averaging 15.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks through Charlotte’s first two games.

With Nicolas Batum missing for the Hornets for the first few weeks of the season at least, Charlotte needs Dwight to not only offer a positive presence inside, but to also function as a legitimate second option next to Kemba Walker.

Howard should have a significant physical edge over all of Milwaukee’s centers, and as a result the Bucks may look to take a different route and turn to Thon Maker for extended minutes in an attempt to draw Howard away from the basket.

Still, there’ll be no way of stopping the 31-year-old from getting good chances around the rim eventually, and when they come his way, the Hornets will require Howard to get his fill of points.
