Wisconsin Herd: Getting to know the training camp roster
Joel Bolomboy
At this time last week, Joel Bolomboy was weighing his options after having been waived by the Utah Jazz days earlier as part of their roster cutdowns.
What was the Jazz’s loss was obviously the Bucks’ gain as they quickly scooped up Bolomboy days later by inking him to their second and final two-way contract slot late last week.
By bringing in Bolomboy, the Bucks not only got a player that fits the athletic and physical profile of players they hold in high regard, but having him with the Herd will only pay dividends for the Weber State product as he’ll look to add more polish to his game in a setting where he has already experienced great individual success.
While with the Salt Lake City Stars last season, Bolomboy averaged 16.6 points on 54.4 percent shooting from the field (46.8 percent from deep), 13.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24 total appearances, 22 of them being starts. Those numbers helped Bolomboy earn a berth in last year’s G League All-Star game.
With plenty of opportunity to make his presence known, Bolomboy will surely look to pick up where he left off in the G League once the season gets underway.
