Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 117-106 win over Atlanta Hawks
For the love of money
Through their first five games, every Bucks fan has been waiting on Khris Middleton to provide the stable support needed to ease the heavy burden on Antetokounmpo’s shoulders.
Sunday afternoon gave us exactly that as Middleton put in the type of performance that we’ve been accustomed to seeing throughout his tenure in Milwaukee. However, Middleton didn’t start on the right foot as he failed to connect on his first seven shots from both the field and beyond the arc for the first quarter.
It was in the third quarter where Middleton turned the corner as he found his rhythm from all areas of the court. In addition to his scoring, Middleton displayed his smooth playmaking prowess all throughout the day, despite a couple of unforced turnovers that came earlier in the game.
All in all, Middleton scored 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field (3-of-5 from deep), grabbed seven rebounds, dished out nine assists, had two steals and was a team-high +28 in his near 38 minutes of action.
Delivering the game many had been hoping to see in this early start to the year, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that the worst of Middleton’s play is behind him.
