Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 117-106 win over Atlanta Hawks
Off the hook
Knowing that Greg Monroe would be missing the game due to calf soreness, all eyes were on John Henson to see if he could continue his surprising start to the season. Once again, the North Carolina product did not disappoint as he provided stability at the 5-spot on both ends of the floor.
Defensively, Henson put in a strong performance as he deterred shots at the rim as well as delivering emphatic rejections on Hawks players by rotating over near the bucket for much of the game.
On the offensive end, Henson cleaned up anything that came his way around the rim, slammed home a lob pass and even hit a cool 18-foot jumper at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
In total, Henson scored 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds, handed out three assists, had three blocks and two steals in nearly 28 minutes.
With Monroe out for the next two weeks as Jason Kidd announced after the game, the Bucks will be leaning on Henson for big stretches and will be hoping he doesn’t experience a dip in his current run of form.
