Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 126-121 loss to Charlotte Hornets
Henson unhooked
Getting the nod in the starting lineup over Thon Maker, John Henson did not disappoint on Wednesday night.
In a little over 29 minutes, Henson scored four points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out a career-high six assists, registered four turnovers, had both a steal and a block and was a +12.
At the peak of his effectiveness last night, Henson was giving his best effort in fighting on the glass, especially going against a double-double machine like Dwight Howard. But he surprisingly offered much more as Henson was very adept with his playmaking by connecting to teammates cutting to the basket as he stood from the elbows.
The question now is whether Henson’s move to the starting lineup will be a permanent change. Henson’s useful play has made that unit with the four remaining regular starters one of the team’s most effective lineups this far into the year as they hold a +25.5 net rating in 50 minutes, per NBA.com/stats.
We’ll have to wait on our answer until Friday evening, but Henson has certainly provided the proper spark the Bucks have needed at the 5-spot so far into the season.
