A night of highs and lows for Giannis

While he bounced back from his quiet night against the Charlotte Hornets earlier in the week, Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s performance had mixed results against the Pistons last night.

In 38 minutes of action, Antetokounmpo posted 29 points on 27 shots, four rebounds, three assists, four blocks, four turnovers, a steal and was a +9. He undoubtedly stuffed the stat sheet as he regularly does, but certain elements of Antetokounmpo’s play were lacking some consistency.

After starting the game red-hot, Antetokounmpo quickly cooled off on the offensive end and some of that was due to the fact he became a little too reliant on his jumper, which he did have going at times throughout the night.

That was a bit backed up by the fact that it took until the final 45 seconds in the game for Antetokounmpo to make his lone trip to the free-throw line, but there was just something lacking from Giannis’ shot selection and overall aggressiveness in halfcourt situations to the hoop.

Don’t get it wrong, it was still an improved performance from the previous game for Giannis, but there were still some hitches that the team would have been better without in the loss.
