Who’s next?

Next on the docket for the Herd will be the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz’s affiliate. This is the second year the Stars have existed in their current form as they were previously known as the Idaho Stampede.

While the Herd have only been in existence for nearly nine months, the Stars and the Herd already share a connection, both on the court and off. Both Herd team president Steve Brandes and head coach Jordan Brady played vital roles in the Stars’ front office and coaching staff before making their way to Oshkosh over the last few months, respectively.

On the players side, current Bucks two-way player Joel Bolomboy spent last season as a member of the Jazz organization and posted sterling numbers when assigned to the Stars (16.6 points and 13.3 rebounds in 24 total games), which was good enough for him to earn a G League All-Star appearance.

That connection extends into this season as the Stars boast a familiar face to all Bucks fans in Nate Wolters, who’s currently averaging 15 points, four rebounds and five assists through the team’s first two games.

Unfortunately for them, the Stars have dropped their opening pair of games to start the season to both the Austin Spurs and expansion side, the Memphis Hustle.

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday night to see if the Herd will add their second win of the season, but that leaves us plenty of time to continue riding this current high following last night’s thrilling victory.
