Bledsoe steps up

The Bucks struggled mightily in the clutch for most of last season, falling victim to a stagnating offense and an overall lack of shot creation. This history, along with a Pistons comeback attempt, had fans on edge as the game neared towards its end.

Enter Eric Bledsoe.

Taking over down the stretch, the dynamic point guard scored seven straight points with two minutes left, first hitting a catch-and-shoot three-pointer at the top of the key before getting a pull-up jumper to fall. He then hit two free throws that would set up Tony Snell‘s pair of makes to put the game out of reach for good.

This isn’t to say that his performance over the course of the whole game echoed this trend. All of the point guard’s 12 points came in the second half, as he shot 0-for-6 over the game’s fist two quarters.

Bledsoe managed to contribute a little bit of everything even when he wasn’t scoring, chipping in eight assists to tie for the team lead as well as three steals and two blocks.

Most importantly, his experience and poise served the Bucks well in the clutch, where the game was in its most volatile state.
