Positive takeaway

Tuesday night saw the Herd at their most unselfish in the early season as they posted a season-high 28 assists on 43 made field goals.

All throughout the game, the Herd were working the ball from side to side and finding any openings the 87ers were giving them by cutting regularly and kicking out to open shooters, who would capitalize as a result.

JeQuan Lewis stood out in this regard as he recorded double-digit assists (11, to be exact) for the second straight game. The VCU product was on point attacking and probing the paint to only then contort himself and dish out the ball for some great dimes to his teammates all throughout the night.

But it really was a team-wide effort as every player but Shannon Brown registered at least one assist during their time on the floor for the Herd.

While their nagging issues with turnovers carried over yet again (the Herd had 19 turnovers), it was great to see everyone not buckle and continue to trust each other, especially when things got tough down the stretch.
