Major key for Utah – Find some offense

The Jazz face a similar challenge every time they take to the floor, but in spite of a roster mixed with legitimately talented NBA players and one of the league’s best coaches, Utah is pressed to find a go-to offensive option every time they take the floor.

Having already been known as a defensive-minded team last season, losing Gordon Hayward, their clear offensive first option in free agency has only made the challenge even greater for the Jazz.

Although he’s more readily associated with his defensive contributions, Gobert’s absence also hurts his team offensively as he provided an easy outlet for 14 points a night.

As a result, the Jazz sit near the bottom of the NBA in terms of offensive rating, keeping company with a host of teams who they’re much better than overall. In 24th place, the Heat, Suns, Lakers, Mavericks, Kings and Bulls are the only teams with offensive struggles greater than Utah’s.

The Jazz do have players capable of breaking out and delivering something more offensively on any given night, but they may need something special from Rodney Hood, Derrick Favors, Donovan Mitchell or Ricky Rubio in this one.
