Major key for Milwaukee – Continue to share the offensive load

As the Bucks rounded out their road trip with a convincing win in Portland on Thursday night, Milwaukee’s fans were treated to an outstanding performance from their three leading lights.

Although there have been some positive signs since Eric Bledsoe‘s arrival, the Bucks are obviously still trying to adjust and mesh to how they play with their talented new point guard.

On Thursday in the Moda Center, those players gave their best collective performance yet with all three of Bledsoe, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton scoring over 20 points. As a trio, they combined for 71 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists, six steals and four blocks on 27-of-54 shooting from the field.

Even in the previous matchup with Sacramento, both Bledsoe and Antetokounmpo crossed the 20-point mark, while Middleton could well have joined them if the one-sided scoreline didn’t cap his minutes for the night at just 24.

Part of the joy in having a range of talented options is that one player can pick up the slack when another his off his game. Even better than that, though, is if you can get all three firing and reduce the individual burden that any of your stars would otherwise have to carry.

If Bledsoe, Middleton and Antetokounmpo can all step up with big performances again, the Kings will have a mountain to climb.
